Ask Me if I Believe in the Future

How do we want to shape our future? What ideas, questions and strategies do designers have when it comes to developing visions for a better future and formulating solutions at the applied level? The MK&G deals with these questions time and again by also asking artists, designers and exhibition makers about them. They provide impulses that turn exhibition projects into think tanks with audience participation. In the summer of 2022, the MK&G invites the internationally active curator and design critic Maria Cristina Didero to a new experiment. In the context of the exhibition Ask Me if I Believe in the Future, she invited four internationally active designers to formulate their interpretation of the future, their expectations and visions in a single project or work: Greek design studio Objects of Common Interest by Eleni Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis; Israeli animal rights activist Erez Nevi Pana, who explores natural phenomena and environmental processes through materials; designer Carolien Niebling, who use food as a medium to work on design, research, consultancy, teaching, strategy and development for a good future; multidisciplinary creative studio Zaven by Enrica Cavarzan and Marco Zavagno, who explore the interaction between communication, design and art.
